Watching on with a growing disbelief as the landscape darkened
And it went too far, far beyond the bounds of pure incompetence
This was utter recklessness, driven by over-confidence & blind ambition
And ultimately narcissism
With all the tell-tale signs of arrogance, delusion & inflated ego
A sad attention-seeker

High up above - seeing the carnage down below
It wasn’t hard to figure what was going on
And when I think about it now, it must be a flawed society
To allow one person to behave so recklessly
Without fear of facing a charge
Of treating the people with shameful contempt
Deserving time spent at the pleasure of his majesty

Acting out a fatal plan
With total disregard & dismissal of sound advice & common sense
Ruining ordinary lives then blaming everything & everybody else
A total lack of remorse & responsibility
A bumbling wreck with no gravitas or credibility
Shame on all who lent support to this abuse of the highest office
A truly shameful legacy
